LanSender for Linux

Chat and share pictures, files and whole folders with nearby devices.
LanSender is free to use and does not require an account.

Requirements
-----------
A graphical ARM Linux desktop with glibc 2.36 or later, Qt 6.4 or later,
a session D-Bus and an unlocked Secret Service (such as GNOME Keyring).
The baseline is Debian 12 / Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm desktop or a compatible
newer system. ARM64 is for 64-bit systems; armhf is for ARMv7 hard-float
32-bit systems. Choose the package that matches your operating system.
Original ARMv6 Raspberry Pi / Pi Zero and headless Lite systems are excluded.

Install
-------
For Debian-based desktops, install the matching .deb through the graphical
package installer or run: sudo apt install ./lansender-linux-<version>-<arch>.deb
Open LanSender from the application menu. Keep the other device on the same
local network, choose its name, and start sharing.

The .tar.gz archive contains the application and desktop resources, but does
not bundle system libraries. Install the dependencies listed in the .deb
metadata before using it: Qt 6 Widgets, Network and DBus, libsecret, OpenSSL 3,
libstdc++6 and xdg-utils. A file manager and image viewer are recommended.

Your data
---------
Device identity and history keys use the desktop Secret Service. Keep that
keyring available when using LanSender; a missing keyring does not create a
replacement identity. History is stored locally, protected by those keys.
Received files remain normal files in your chosen folder. Desktop notifications
hide message contents. Closing the window keeps reception running only when a
system tray is available; choosing Quit ends reception.
