What you can do

One app for two screens

The same app has layouts made for iPhone and iPad screens.

Share with nearby computers

Choose a compatible LanSender device on your local network to exchange messages and selected files.

Receive, then use your files

Accept an incoming file request, check the completed result in the app and export files when you need them elsewhere.

System requirements

  • iOS 17 or later on iPhone; iPadOS 17 or later on iPad.
  • Allow local network access so LanSender can discover and connect to other devices.
  • Keep LanSender in the foreground while chatting or transferring. A notification does not mean a file has been received.

Install and get started

  1. After installing LanSender, allow local network access so it can find nearby devices.
  2. Open LanSender on the other computer or phone and connect both devices to the same local network.
  3. Choose the other device to send a message, photo or file. Keep LanSender in the foreground on your iPhone or iPad while sending or receiving.

Keep LanSender open on both devices, on a local network that allows them to connect. The recipient chooses whether to accept incoming files.

Platform questions

Can I transfer while the app is in the background?

Keep LanSender in the foreground for chatting and transfers on iPhone and iPad. Do not rely on notifications to accept or finish a file transfer.

Do iPhone and iPad need separate apps?

No. One Universal app supports both iPhone and iPad, with a layout designed for each screen. Check the system requirements for your device.
