LanSender help

Find the issue you are seeing and follow the checks below.

Another device does not appear

Open LanSender on both devices and check that they are on the same network. Keep the app in the foreground on phones and tablets, and wake any sleeping computers.

If the device is still missing, check local network permissions and allow LanSender through the firewall. Guest Wi-Fi may block connections between devices, and a VPN may change the connection path. Ask your administrator for help on a managed network.

A transfer stopped or its result is unconfirmed

Check the receiving device first: was the file accepted, is there enough space, and can the destination folder be written to? Keep external drives connected, and keep both apps and network connections available.

Completed files are kept. After a failure or an unconfirmed result, check the receiving folder before sending again. If chat works but files do not, also check that the firewall permits LanSender file-transfer connections.

A device is offline, or a notification opens without a message

Update both apps and keep the sender running. Pending messages stay on the sending device; the notification server does not hold a copy. After tapping the alert, reconnect both devices over LAN. Files still require acceptance.

Allow notifications in the app and system settings. Android reminders require working Google Play services and access to Google’s push services; browsing a website alone does not confirm that connection. You can also open LanSender directly and reconnect to receive pending messages.

A device identity changed

Reinstalling the app, resetting its identity or replacing a device can change its safety code. Check with the owner, then compare the code in the device details.

Ordinary connections are encrypted automatically. You do not need to compare codes every time; use them for unexpected changes or an extra identity check.

Contact support

Email lansender@weerocks.com with both operating systems, LanSender versions, the steps you took and the error message. Remove private chats and other sensitive information from screenshots.

On iPhone and iPad, Settings can generate a support report without chat content. A report about a selected message includes that message and information about the sender, so review it before sharing. Reports are not uploaded automatically.
