Mac saves files to the folder chosen when accepting a transfer. iPhone and iPad keep them in the LanSender received library. Receiving a photo does not automatically add it to Photos.
iPhone and iPad: open the received library
Find the file in LanSender’s received library and preview it if its format is supported. To use it elsewhere, choose Share or Export and finish the system save action. Cancelling the share sheet does not export anything; the original stays in the library.
Mac: open the destination folder
Find the item under Received Files and show it in Finder, or open the folder you chose when accepting. An external drive must still be connected. If the folder moved or access expired, restore access or choose a destination again.
What if the file is missing?
Check the transfer status first. A declined, cancelled or interrupted transfer may not produce a complete file. Putting a phone app in the background or a computer to sleep may interrupt reception.
A notification means there is a message or file request, not that the file has been saved. Return to LanSender, restore the local connection and accept the file to receive it.
Clearing history versus deleting files
Clearing conversation or transfer history only removes list entries. To free storage, delete files separately from the received library or destination folder.
Mac asks for confirmation before moving a file to Trash. Copies you exported to another app or location must be handled there separately. Back up anything important before deleting it.
