Want to move phone photos to your computer or hand a work folder to a colleague? Use these steps for your first transfer.

Get both devices ready

Install the right LanSender version on each device. Join the same Wi-Fi, or connect the computer by Ethernet to the same router. Open both apps and allow local network access when prompted.

Find the receiving device

The device list updates automatically. Choose the other device by name and send a short greeting to check that you have the right conversation. Encryption starts automatically; your first transfer does not require entering a safety code. If the device is missing, see device discovery help.

Choose your files and send

Add a photo, several files or a whole folder to the conversation, then select Send. Sending a folder keeps its subfolders in place; there is no need to select every file inside it.

On the other device, review and accept the incoming request. Computers save to the chosen destination; iPhone and iPad use the LanSender received library.

Keep the apps open until completion

Keep computers awake and LanSender on screen on phones during the transfer. When it says Completed, open the file on the receiving device.

After an interruption or an unconfirmed result, check for a complete copy before sending again. Unfinished transfers do not resume automatically.

Use the files in another app

On a computer, open files from the receiving folder. On iPhone and iPad, share or export them from the received library to Files or another app. Receiving a photo does not automatically add it to the system photo library.

Clearing transfer history tidies the list; it does not delete received files.
